Steven Seagal Lawman is a fresh look at the action hero and martial arts expert. For 20 years Seagal has been a deputy sheriff in Jefferson Parrish, Louisiana. The series, which debuted on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 follows Seagal as he goes out on patrol with a team of elite law enforcement officers.
Seagal is just one of the guys, but he also helps them by instructing them on the zen of shooting and martial arts moves that could help to save their lives in dangerous situations.
Steven Seagal says in the series opener that he makes his living as a movie star, but he volunteers as a lawman in Louisiana. Seagal is an expert in martial arts, with a 7th degree black belt in Aikido. As a movie star, Seagal's movies have grossed over $2 billion worldwide.
Seagal is considered one of the greatest actions stars in the film industry, along with Arnold Scharzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. In addition to being a film star, Seagal is a fully commission deputy with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana. In his law enforcement duties, Seagal goes out on patrol, is an expert marksman who has worked with the Swat team and has instructed other officers in hand to hand combat and firearms.

In Lawman, fans get to ride shotgun with the deputy and an elite team of deputies as they respond to crimes in progress. The series also follows Seagal when he goes off duty and pursues his other interests, including musical performances and philanthropic efforts in Jefferson Parrish and New Orleans.
Steven Seagal is known for portraying characters that are invincible. Film credits include Above the Law, Hard to Kill, Under Siege (1 & 2) and the blockbuster hit Exit Wounds. Seagal's newest film is Machete, a Robert Rodriguez film that will hit theaters in 2010.
