- The Colony Hotel. The Colony Hotel is an outstanding resort situated on the rock promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel is the first environmentally responsible hotel and U.S. Backyard Wildlife Habitat in Maine. The Colony Hotel was built in 1914 and is listed as a Historic Hotel of America. - The Captain Jefferd's Inn Bed and Breakfast. This magnificent Inn was built in 1804, as a wedding present from Daniel Walker to hes daughter Mary and her new husband Captain Williams Jefferds. Captain Jefferds was a seafaring man. Mary would stand on the "widows walk", which is still there, to watch for her husband.
