The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty was a reality show about the Jackson brothers of The Jackson 5, that aired on A&E cable television in 2009-2010. This writer was invited to attend the Red Carpet Gala and meet the Jacksons in person.s
The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty premiered on A&E on Sunday, December 13, 2009. A&E hosted a gala red carpet event in Hollywood on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. I had been invited to the red carpet celebration and was able to attend as a guest of A&E.
The Roosevelt Hotel
Staying as a guest at the historic Roosevelt Hotel was a treat. The Roosevelt Hotel is a Hollywood icon where the very first Academy Awards Show was held in 1929. The Hollywood Walk of Fame, with the stars on the sidewalk, is right in front of the Roosevelt Hotel. Many famous Hollywood stars stayed at the Roosevelt, including Marilyn Monroe, Montgomery Clift and Clark Gable and Carole Lombard.
The Red Carpet
A limo transported me to the gala where I was able to stand on the sidelines while the celebrities walked down the red carpet, posed for pictures and spoke to reporters.
The Jackson brothers arrived in two groups. Tito, Marlon and Jackson Jackson arrived together and posed as a trio and individually. Jermaine Jackson arrived later, along with his wife and two of his sons. Katherine Jackson was at the gala. The Jackson family matriarch, dressed in a royal blue gown, did not walk the red carpet or pose for pictures. She was whisked in, surrounded by what looked like family members.
The Jackson 5
Tito, Marlon, Jackie and Jermaine Jackson got on stage in the grand ballroom of Boulevard and promoted their new television program, The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty on A&E. The mini reality series is a look inside the lives of one of the most popular families in pop entertainment.
The series was held conjunction with the Jackson 5's 40th anniversary record. Missing from the group, of course, was Michael Jackson who broke out as a child performer in the Jackson 5, along with his older brothers. Michael Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009 and his sudden death was one of the subjects explored in the reality series about the Jackson family..
There was a lively party, with music, drinks and food, in the Boulevard 3, on Sunset Avenue in Hollywood. Boulevard 3 is a fabulous club built on the site of the former Hollywood Athletic Club.
The crowds, the glamor, the music and the celebrities were a glitzy treat that was almost too much to take in on one evening.
